1. Scope. These terms cover the free test version of Septalingua Reader. Planned functions and tariffs are not an offer to buy an available service. Registration and participation in testing are restricted to people aged 18 or over. Google sign-in does not verify age.

2. Free participation. Testing is entirely free for both parties and creates no mutual financial obligations: the user owes no testing fee and the operator owes no remuneration for participation. This does not remove mandatory user rights or statutory liability. No subscriptions are sold in this version.

3. Test risks. The version is provided in its current state. Uninterrupted operation, absence of defects, compatibility, preservation of local data and accuracy of translations or voices are not guaranteed. Use is at your own risk to the extent permitted by law. Keep originals and backups; do not rely on this test as your sole archive or for consequential medical, legal, safety or financial decisions. Mandatory rights and liability that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.

4. Your materials. Use only lawfully accessible files. Do not infringe copyright, bypass technical protection, share credentials, attack the service, evade quotas or automate abusive registrations. Rights in your own files and notes remain yours; importing them grants no right to sell or publish them. Browser clearing, private mode, a device/browser/domain change or storage eviction may cause loss. Sign-in does not create a cloud backup or automatically move guest files.

5. External services. Online actions send the selected text and necessary language parameters to the chosen provider; do not send confidential information without a lawful basis. Results can be incomplete or inaccurate. Preserve required dictionary attribution/licences. External AI/translation and other integrations follow their providers’ terms and may have territorial restrictions; one service’s availability does not establish another’s. Do not circumvent restrictions. External dictionary links may include the searched word. Browser voices and dictation may use online services; dictation needs microphone permission.

6. Account closure. Request deletion in Profile and confirm it explicitly. For seven days you can explicitly cancel; signing in alone does not cancel. Afterwards account access closes and ordinary identifying account data is removed within 30 days of the request, including the seven-day period. Documented legal/incident holds can delay necessary deletion. A minimal opaque reference may remain where existing publications or retained audit records require it. Local files and exported backups are separate. Statutory erasure requests can also be sent by email without a mandatory seven-day wait.

7. Feedback and changes. Feedback is sent privately to administration, not automatically published. Do not include secrets or third-party data without a basis. Suggestions may inform development; publishing identifiable feedback needs a separate basis. Features may change or testing may stop. Material terms changes receive a new version/date and renewed acknowledgement where required; accepting terms is not consent to advertising or optional tracking. Abuse may lead to proportionate restrictions, with review by contacting the operator.

8. Law and contact. Italian law applies without depriving users of mandatory protections under applicable law, including consumer protections and competent courts. 11. Cloud backups. Connection is optional and separately authorized in your profile; access depends on assigned rights, settings and the provider. Explicitly select copies for transfer. Disconnecting stops app access and removes stored connection tokens, but does not delete archives: choose deletion separately or delete personal-cloud copies with your provider. There is no automatic synchronization. In this alpha, each copy is limited to 32 MiB in project storage or 16 MiB in personal storage, with up to 100 copies per storage; project capacity depends on rights. Keep originals independently.
